Indie Insights Vol. 37 – Space Sushi and Rolling Hills
Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip
Recently, I spent most of my time deeply exploring Killer Klowns from Outer Space. My review is available to read. Therefore, I didn’t have much time for Indies. I couldn’t make time for two anticipated titles.
Let’s start the game! 😊
Tiny Terry is released to space by snekflat. Little Terry is left at home when his parents go on a luxurious vacation. As a result, he attends summer school, but he decides to go to space instead. Firstly, he needs a vehicle to travel in space. Terry becomes a taxi driver to get a company car. This might seem like a crazy taxi driver game, but it’s not. Terry won’t be driving anyone to somewhere except for himself. Instead, he’ll be sent to Splankewater, an open world with strange people and numerous collectibles. Your ultimate goal is to upgrade your car to reach high places by upgrading the turbo booster. Unfortunately, you need to collect turbo scraps to upgrade the booster. Collecting 150 scraps allows you to upgrade the booster at the repair shop, earning you money. Of course, I won’t work for money; it’s crazy! Instead, let’s break things. Find a shovel to dig up treasures or a pipe to break big things.
While on the way to space, there are plenty of things to do. You can amuse soccer kids, non-violent crime assistance, or finish dance routines, which are just a few examples of what Terry can do. You can also find insects, go back home to feed the fish, or help the pet shop owner design a papercraft. Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip has been released on Steam.
Rolling Hills: Make Sushi, Make Friends
By Catch & Release, LLC, this charming restaurant and life simulation game lets you start cooking. You play as a sushi bot in the small town of Rolling Hills, requested by Mayor Kogi to make the town famous. In this small town, there are a furniture shop, market, and café, operated by Mayor Kogi’s children. Cooking and upgrading your restaurant, building friendships with townspeople, and growing your restaurant is essential. You start with simple recipes and ingredients, but as you improve, you can create more recipes and ingredients. Some recipes have effects on customers, such as a chef that increases the pace of customers or a slow-cooked dish that extends customer intervals.
After opening your restaurant, you need to do many things. Tableware, garbage collection, and awaking sleeping customers are just a few things. Quickly responding to phone calls from customers and avoiding camera flashes will help your restaurant. As your friendship increases, more products and services become available.
One day, a new mysterious dweller named Min appears in the town, bringing daily challenges, point shop, and a chance to increase friendship. One of the daily challenges is finding imitation crab, which includes dressing up as a crab with a false nose, mustache, and glasses.
Main Story
Rolling Hills is indeed cursed, and it’s not unknown. You need to make sushi for powerful spirits to lift the curse.
