To unlock the full potential of crude oil, you will need to select the oilfield and set up your tools. The oilfield areas can be found in the red sands of the desert. Once you’ve chosen an area, you will need to connect your Water Pump, Fuel Refiners, and Generator to start the extraction process. These technologies are available in the Logistic and Infrastructure sections of your menu.
In the Logistic section, you will find Water Pumps, which can be unlocked with 5 Ciphers and 700 Energy Links. In the Infrastructure section, Fuel Refiners can be accessed through the second tier. Any generator will suffice, but the Biomass Generator is the most efficient.
